On Saturday 25 April a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal.
It severely shook the lives of at least 8 million people and left many homeless. Nepal’s major cities, including the capital Kathmandu, were badly damaged and rural areas near the epicentre completely cut off by avalanches. Even those whose homes remained standing were sleeping in the streets because they were terrified by regular aftershocks.
Support has been pouring in from all over the world but as the nation moves from emergency response to the rebuilding stage, help is still desperately needed. In an effort help those in need, DDB Sydney decided to create Namaste for Nepal, an online art auction with all money raised going to Save the Children Nepal.
Drawing inspiration from the beautiful landscape of the famous Himalayas, DDB approached Danny Eastwood to capture these beautiful still-life creations to promote the cause.
Danny says, “This was a great opportunity to work with the guys at DDB and craft something beautiful for a worthy cause.”
Bidding is now open for the artworks donated by artists from around the globe and will close at 10pm, 13th of August.
